Kerala college student Hanan, who was trolled for selling fish to support her family, today (1 August) met the State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram and thanked him.

Last week, the story of Hanan selling fish went viral on social media. She was trolled as many claimed that her story is “fake”. However, she received a lot of support from politicians, celebrities, actors and others.

Even the Kerala chief minister had backed her and had asked State police to probe and take action against trolls. A person was arrested for harassing her online.

On Wednesday, 21-year-old Hanan came to the State secretariat to meet Vijayan and thank him for his support.

After the meeting, the chief minister posted a photo with Hanan and wrote that she would be protected.

"Hanan came to meet after the cabinet meeting. Felt happy seeing smile on her face. I have assured all support and asked her to go ahead with courage", Vijayan said.

Speaking to the media, Hanan said, “A daughter always wishes for the protection of parents. And the chief minister has assured me all the protection. I am the daughter of the government.”
