Working 5-days a week should be encouraged with additional hours of work every day. The number of restricted holidays should be increased than everyone taking leave on public holidays. "Let us work efficiently," said Karnataka Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge.
Karnataka Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge has mooted five-day work per week for six lakh state government staff, and favoured pruning public holidays. Kharge, in his two-page letter addressed to Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on September 29, stated that his suggestion is in line with the sixth pay commission’s recommendations. However, a response for the same from Kumaraswamy is awaited.
