Nagendra of Gobbargala village of Srirangapatna, Karnataka committed suicide after he was threatened and beaten up multiple times by the supporters of JD(S) MLA Ravindra Srikantaiah. A drunken Nagendra allegedly spoke against the MLA in a local bar. The supporters of the Srirangapatna MLA who heard him speaking, attacked him and thrashed him in the bar. After a while, he was assaulted again at multiple places in the village. They also threatened him over phone.
