There were reports that Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy is ill and he will step down. But, he took to Twitter to clarify that he is fine and will not resign. He called the report as ‘far from the truth’
Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy is reported to be unwell and will have to undergo treatment abroad. This news was followed by rumours that he will resign soon. However, Kumaraswamy has clarified over the speculations about his health, calling the report ‘far from the truth’.
One of the regional TV channels started airing a special programme stating that Kumaraswamy is ill and he will resign soon.
Following this, JD(S members gathered in front of the TV channel’s office in Bengaluru and staged a protest on Thursday.
Reacting to this, Kumaraswamy tweeted, "I respect the freedom of expression of the media in our democracy. I am not ill as telecast in the media. The blessings of God, my parents and the good wishes of the people of the state is the protection shield for me. My priority is to work for the people (sic).”

According to sources, Kumaraswamy has been asked to reduce weight as he is suffering from heart ailments. He is likely to go for liposuction treatment in London. It might take three months for him to completely recover, Suvarna News TV reported on Thursday.
But, Kumaraswamy has clarified that there is no question of him resigning from the post of chief minister.

Earlier this month, Kumaraswamy had skipped Tippu Jayanti celebrations due to ill health. He was advised three days rest by doctors.
