Srinagar: The BJP, for the first time, is seen winning the hearts of people in Kashmir after five of its candidates win the municipal election uncontested. 

Three out of these five victorious candidates are from South Kashmir, which is believed to be the hot bed of terrorism. While two candidates won from Kulgam, one won from Devsar area. 

The remaining two candidates won from Achabal area of Anantnag district.

The five candidates are Umla Bali, Rishabh Bali, Jyoti Gosani, Bablu Gosani and Satish Kumar Zutshi.

For the second phase, 36 candidates have filed nomination. Among them 11 are from BJP, 21 from Congress and 4 independents.
The elections are scheduled to be held on October 10.

Speaking to My Nation, Senior BJP leader said that the victory is a big achievement for BJP as it means that they are reaching every corner of the state. “After Kargil, Kashmir is example of this. We are looking forward to continuous support from the central leadership,” he said.

The official announcement regarding this will be made by the party's general secretary Ram Madhav on Friday. Madhav is also expected to hold a series of rallies in Jammu.
