Hyderabad: India has geared up for its first IKEA store. Finally, after twelve years of prolonged planning, the Swedish furnishing giant is opening its first store in Hyderabad, today. It is going to be a huge 4 lakh sq ft store spread over an area of a 13-acre complex. It is certainly going to be one of its kind with also a 1000-seater restaurant housed inside it, which will take care of the cravings of the Indians with multitudes of dishes from the Indian cuisine. 

The popular company has invested Rs 1000 crore in this project as they are expecting a footfall of 60 lakh visitors annually. The company has also employed a direct staff strength of about 950 people and indirect staff of up to 1500 people.

The company has planned to expand by opening 25 outlets by the end of 2025. Over 1000 products out of the 7500 will cost under Rs 200. The store will sit on the busy road next to the famous HITEC city.

The store will exhibit two full houses apart from different sets of bedrooms, kitchen, dining hall. It will also have a huge market hall, which will have every utensil accessories and textiles, rugs, lighting.
