Hindus protest against Karnataka minister's proposal to rename Bellali Circle as Tipu Circle
Congress leader Krishna Byre Gowda has been given 15 days’ time to withdraw his proposal and resend the same to suggest Basavalingappa Circle instead of Tipu Circle as the new name.
Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress leader and law minister Krishna Byre Gowda has proposed to rename Bellali Circle in Bengaluru as Tipu Circle. Pro-Hindu group members staged a protest in Byatarayanapura and demanded that the minister withdraw his proposal. A member of the pro-Hindu group also said that the circle should be named after Basavalingappa, former Congress leader from Byatarayanapura.
