Hisar: The newly licensed Punjab pilot Vikas Jyani, hailing from Punjab's Adampur, kept his promise alive by making sure that 22 residents from his village who are over 70 years of age, get to experience the magic of flying.

Jyani’s father, Mahendra Jayani, said that Vikas fulfilled his dream with the flight, too. “That’s the most important thing for me,” he said. “All youngsters should follow Vikas’s example, and we should respect our elders,” Mahendra further added.

A 90-year-old woman, Bimla, one of the passengers who had never flown before, expressed to TOI that it felt like a dream, and stressed that “many people make promises to the elderly, but Jyani kept his word.”

Mahendra Jayani said that Vikas fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot too. The group later visited the Golden Temple, Wagah Border and Jallianwala Bagh.
