New Delhi: India’s external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj turns 67 today (February 14). 

The senior BJP leader is known for her ability to invent herself as per her changing role in the party and the government. She is also considered as a skillful speaker. 

Here are some interesting facts about Swaraj

Swaraj was born on February 14, 1952. Father's name was Hardev Sharma, who was a prominent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member.

Swaraj's family was a resident of Dharampura in Lahore, Pakistan.

Swaraj, who graduated in Sanskrit and Political Science, won the award for Best Hindi Speaker for three consecutive times in a competition organized by the Haryana Government. Today, when he speaks in Hindi from the UN General Assembly to Parliament, everybody and the Opposition listens carefully.

Swaraj was also chief minister of Delhi for about one and a half months. Her tenure may have been short, but with this, her record was made as Delhi's first woman chief minister.

Shortly before stepping into the country's politics, Swaraj took charge of the state-level politics of Haryana. In the Janata Party government in 1977, she took oath as a cabinet minister at the age of 25.
