Elephant dies after getting stuck in rail fence in Karnataka

The Karnataka government's ambitious railway fence project to prevent elephant-human conflict has claimed a life of a 42-year-old tusker in the Nagarahole National Park limits on Saturday. The elephant got stuck in the rail fence and died.

Mysuru: An elephant got stuck in a railway fence and died in Karnataka. The fence was erected the state forest department to prevent tuskers from entering human habitat. The  42-year-old elephant got stuck in the fence and died on Saturday, the forest department said. The incident happened in Veeranahosahalli forest in Nagarahole National Park limits.
