New Delhi: The capital and its surrounding areas was lashed by heavy rain on Saturday, leading to waterlogging and traffic snarls at several places. This is the second instance in a few days that the infrastructural architecture of the NCR was found creaking following a heavy downpour. Here's MyNation with a list of routes in Delhi you must avoid

RTR flyover: Flying Delhi from Jaipur may take less time than reaching to your house in Delhi-NCR from the Indira Gandhi International airport. There is a massive jam at the RTR flyover which will have a spillover effect. It will also slow down traffic going to Dhaula Kuan from the Delhi airport and you will also find waterlogging on that strech.

ITO: If you are coming from east Delhi and want to reach central Delhi, avoid ITO. Due to waterlogging, ongoing construction work and heavy traffic flow, there will be a delay of at least 15-20 minutes. You can choose routes like the newly-inaugurated NH24 to Pragati Maidan to reach central Delhi.

DND flyover: Commuters traveling from Noida to Delhi as always have to face massive traffic jams on the DND flyover starting from the toll booth to Ashram flyover. The only road which can be taken as an alternate is the Noida-Mayur Vihar Road, though it may also cause you some delay.

Ashram crossing: As there is ongoing metro construction, there is already traffic snarls on every route connecting Ashram Road. This will cause trouble to people coming and going to Faridabad and south Delhi from east Delhi. The alternate route may be Barapullah flyover, though only to enter south Delhi from east Delhi. Commuters traveling to Faridabad or coming from there will have to negotiate heavy jams as there is hardly any alternate which can save your time until you choose colony roads.

Ring Road: This route, which is the lifeline of Delhi, has been facing waterlogging at multiple places like Punjabi Bagh flyover, Mayapuri, Azadpur flyover and so on, leading to jams on Ring Road. It is better to take the Outer Ring Road to reach your destination.
