New Delhi: At least 12 Delhi-bound trains have been cancelled on Monday after thick fog shrouded the national capital.

Also, several airlines took to social media to inform the passengers on Sunday about possibilities of delays in Delhi and Bengaluru due to fog and low visibility.

Moderate fog and mainly clear sky were forecasted by the MeT office for Monday. "Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 20 and 7 degrees Celsius respectively," said the department, according to NDTV.

On Sunday, up to nine trains were delayed due to poor visibility and foggy conditions.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the air quality in Delhi was recorded in the border of 'very poor' to 'severe'. Private environmental institution System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) said that the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded a level of 386.
