Thiruvananthapuram: The Supreme Court verdict on September 28 allowing the entry of women of all age groups into Kerala’s Sabarimala temple had made the famous shrine a battlefield. When the temple closed after  Chithira Attavisesham day on November 5, many new controversies started arising.

Did the Communist Party of India (CPM) set out to target and attack the Hindu groups and BJP workers for extending their support to Sabarimala?

CPM is accused of targeting Hindu organisations across Kerala. According to a Tweet by J Nandakumar, RSS member, CPM allegedly tried to kill 4 devotees in Venmoney, Chengannur.

Earlier, a video showing RSS leader Valsan Thillankery controlling Sabarimala devotees at Sannidhanam had gone viral just when Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the complete control of the famous temple is in the hands of Kerala Police.

In the video, Thillankery is seen using the state police’s public address system to try to control the devotees. A police officer can be seen standing with a megaphone. This has also resulted in a backlash.

After this incident, this attack has reportedly happened in Alappuzha district. "Earlier itself, CPM was trying to attack us. Now they've got a reason, that too with Sabarimala and Ayyappa," said Abhilash Nair, an Ayyappa devotee.

Meanwhile, Kerala Police have registered 543 cases and arrested 3701 Ayyappa devotees, who participated in the agitation over Sabarimala issue in Pathanamthitta.

Earlier, Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary G Sukumaran Nair issued a strong warning to the state government. In a press meet, G Sukumaran Nair said, "Don't play with NSS."

"The state government is trying to generate fake secularism to promote atheism in the state,” Nair told media.

NSS is allegedly facing threats for its stand against the entry of women of menstruating age into Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Earlier, Kottayam NSS office was attacked. The office at Kiliroor in Kottayam was vandalised last week.
