New Delhi: The Congress is once again caught in a sexual harassment muddle. Now Fairoz Khan, the head of the Congress’ students’ wing National Students Union of India (NSUI), is at the centre of it as a former colleague lodged a police complaint against him on Monday at the Parliament Street police station.

Furthermore, the complainant expressed serious concerns about her well-being and the safety of her family from Khan and has asked the Delhi police for security cover.

The police confirmed the development. Sources in Delhi Police told MyNation that while the complaint had been received, the police were processing it. Appropriate action, they said, would be taken after directions from the district DCP.

MyNation tried to contact DCP Madhur Verma for a comment, but he did not take our calls. A message has been left on his cell phone. We contacted Khan for his comment, which is awaited.

In her complaint, the victim said, “I am feeling a serious threat to my security and that of my family members from a person from Jammu and Kashmir named Fairoz Khan who is (the) national president of NSUI, student wing of (the) Indian National Congress.”

The victim has narrated her ordeal in the complaint. “The accused constantly asked me to come to his room in a Bangalore (Bengaluru) hotel at odd hours, especially midnight, which I tried to avoid and deny. He constantly pressured me for the same.”

The complainant also enclosed with her plaint screenshots of the WhatsApp conversation between Khan and her.

Once again, as in the last case of sexual harassment in the social media department of the Congress, which MyNation had exposed, the victim here has alleged that the Congress, including its high command, is shielding the accused.

“I also complained on this issue in the Indian National Congress, they formed a committee for namesake (sic), which just tried to save him and did not take any action. I brought the issue in consideration of the national leadership of Congress. But, they just asked for time till take any action. But, nothing has been done till date even after 80 days on my complaint. I complained on 12th June 2018.”

Further the complainant said, “I am mentally harassed and fear for my security from Fairoz Khan as he may take any action against me to hurt me and my family physically, mentally and other possible means and methods.”

“I request you to kindly take cognisance of this issue and provide me security. If any untoward incident happens to me, my sister or any member of my family. Fairoz Khan will be the person responsible for it. This request is for security threat,” the victim said in her complaint.
