Aditya Nigam, IIT Roorkee alumnus of BTech batch of 2014, has designed a chess board where three people can play at once. This board will even leave chess champion Viswanathan Anand wondering.  The game is called ‘Triwizard Chess’, and it is India's first chess board, which can accommodate three players.

Aditya has decided to gift this special board to a special person like the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. He has also tweeted to the PMO in this regard:

The basic rules of chess remain the same, except for the fact that one has to make use of two minds while playing. The game also helps in getting more people playing than having them as audience.

The first tournament of Triwizard Chess was held in IIT Roorkee, where at least 100 alumni of the college took part. In the contest held on August 18 and 19, Nitin Kumar won the first place, followed by Amit Bendkhale and Vivek Verma.

Aditya also tweeted Viswanathan Anand about his new venture, "Hey (our) Idol, Just wanted to inform you that India's first Chess for three players aka @triwizardchess is launched in India. Hope you will like it!!"

Speaking to Financial Express, Nigam said that the game was of chess lovers by the chess lovers and for chess lovers. He clarified that no rules have been altered, but for the fact that it will be played by three people. Person with white pawns will make the first move followed by the grey and then black pawns.

This is Nigam's second venture after Passbrook app. This financial technology-based app aimed at making the game of chess more accessible and popular among the youths.

The game is yet to make its presence in the online gaming industry. But currently, it is available on Amazon at Rs 1,699.
