On February 5, Prasad (33) was travelling in an Audi car within the Madras high court premises in Chennai when his driver bumped into a two-wheeler, injuring a lawyer. After the accident, the injured lawyer was shifted to a nearby hospital. As other lawyers gathered to question the driver’s reckless driving, Prasad claimed that he was an assistant commissioner at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and was with the CBI, the Interpol and the Airport Authority of India (AAI). He showed fake IDs. When the lawyers questioned him further, they found his answers unconvincing.
A case was filed against Prasad and his driver Mohan Vel under sections 176, 419, 463, 467, 471 and 337 of the Indian Penal code (IPC) with the Chennai police.
