Budget 2019: Mixed response by political class in south India; Karnataka, Kerala CMs not impressed

The interim budget presented by finance minister Piyush Goyal drew flak from HD Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaiah, while some others from the political class in south India gave it a thumbs up.

While Kerala, Karnataka and Puducherry chief ministers termed the Union Budget as disappointing, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu BJP presidents welcomed and celebrated it. Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu fisheries minister D Jayakumar appreciated the Central government for increasing gratuity and pension of government employees.
