The BJP leaders have stopped Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal from painting Jharkhand’s Massanjore dam blue and white. BJP claimed that the dam was being painted with colours depicting the TMC party.

The Mamata Banerjee government tried to paint the Massanjore dam at Dumka district in Jharkhand maintained by the West Bengal government in shades of blue and white.

The BJP claimed it was 'petty politics' being played by TMC. But responding to BJP's claim, TMC said that there was no politics involved in painting the dam with those colours.

Speaking to Indian Express, Trinamool Congress leader and Birbhum’s district president Anubrata Mondal said that there was nothing abnormal in painting the dam with blue and white colours. He further stated that if there was anything abnormal, it was BJP's viewpoint.

However, the painting work has been put on hold after BJP’s Youth Wing- Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) objected to the same. “We went there and asked them to stop the work,” said BJYM’s district president Amit Rakshit speaking to PTI.

The TMC has slammed BJP for stopping the work. The party said something like this has not happened before.
