New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Sunday deferred the hearing of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute matter due to the non-availability of Justice SA Bobde.

The court did not announce a new date on which the hearing would take place.

The Ayodhya case was supposed to be taken up for hearing by the Supreme Court on January 29.

The hearing was cancelled two days after Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi reconstituted a five-member bench to hear the case.

The new bench headed by the CJI comprises Justice SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and SA Nazeer.

The Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit was previously postponed after Justice UU Lalit recused himself saying that he was a lawyer in a related case.
