
Andhra Pradesh: Rs 40 lakh worth gold seized at Rajahmundry Airport (Video)
Rs 40 lakh worth gold was seized at Rajahmundry Airport by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence after intercepting a passenger travelling from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry.
On September 14, the officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Kakinada, intercepted a passenger who arrived at Rajahmundry Airport by Spicejet flight SG-1267 from Hyderabad. On examination, it was found that the passenger was carrying a paste weighing 1.9 kg, concealed inside his innerwear. Upon investigation, the paste turned out to be having gold content of 1,269.85 gram. The gold is worth about Rs 40 lakh and the it has been seized under Customs Act, 1962.
