Dongargarh: BJP president Amit Shah continued his attack on his Congress counterpart Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday and said that the people who spoke about procurement of mobile phones from BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) are now asking for an account of the work done by the Modi government.

“Rahul baba, who recently visited Chhattisgarh, was asking Raman Singh why the state government did not procure mobile phones from BHEL under the SKY scheme. He even doesn’t know that BHEL does not manufacture phones and he was asking for an account of what the (Modi) government had done,” said Shah.

Shah on Wednesday flagged-off the second phase of chief minister Singh's ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’ from Dongargarh in Rajnandgaon district.

“I was listening to a speech of the ‘shahzade' of Congress in which he was asking for the account of Modiji’s work during four years of his rule. Why he was asking this question, we don’t need to say. Rahul Gandhi, you don’t have the authority to ask such questions. You are asking for the account of four years of work, but the people of the country are asking you to give an account of the work done during the four-generation-long rule by your family,” Shah said while addressing a gathering.

He added that despite 60 years of Congress rule, villages in the country were deprived of power supply and farmers were not getting better minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.

The BJP president termed the Congress a “coal-mine thief”, accusing the party of indulging in irregularities in coal block allocations.

Shah said that the development that is being witnessed in Chhattisgarh was only due to the formation of a separate state, which former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had laid the foundation of. He said Vajpayee had formed the state, while Singh was developing it.

Shah praised Singh's work and sounded confident of his victory in the upcoming election. He lauded the Chhattisgarh chief minister for dedicating Naya Raipur as Atal Nagar as tribute to the late Vajpayee.
