An aghori sat on the body of his mother, who died two days ago, and performed pooja to drive away her sins in the presence of 10 naga sadhus, who are also called aghoris.
An aghori called Manikantan was seen sitting on the body of his mother, who had died two days ago, just before commencing the final rites. The incident occurred at Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Manikantan had left the house when he was four-years-old and was being trained to be an Aghori at Himalaya and Kashi. He performed special pooja for his mother in the presence of 10 aghoris. It is said that aghoris believe that performing this pooja will clean the body of any sin it has committed. Locals found Manikantan and had informed him about his mother's death. But people who witnessed this have expressed their displeasure about the way the cremation was held.
