Bengaluru: More than 60 aircraft are set to roar on the sky over the Yelahanka Air Force station from February 20 to 24. The inaugural day was flagged off by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday. Many aircraft displayed their skills with thrilling performances and aerial formations and wowed the audience which included chief minister Kumaraswamy.
SARAS and Rafale grabbed the attention with their performances during the inauguration. The air show will act as a platform to the defence sector and other aviation companies to form new alliances.
The Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT) did not perform on Wednesday after the tragic incident that resulted in the death of wing commander Sahil Gandhi.
Rafale aircraft flew at low speed, while the Indian Air Force took to the skies in “missing man” formation with three aircraft; Su-30, Jaguar and Tejas
