Symptoms of Alzheimer's may not manifest immediately but if things slip from your memory quite frequently then you must consider seeing a specialist. This condition may get worse if left untreated. Some preventive measures can be taken to prevent Alzheimer's. Let’s explore some yoga poses that help in sharpening the memory. 

Yoga poses

Include yoga poses such as Surya Namaskar and Ganesh Mudra in your daily routine. It can benefit both children and the elderly. These yoga poses involve minimal movements that can help you manage Alzheimer’s disease. 

 

Ganesh Mudra

It is recommended to practice Ganesh Mudra daily for mental well-being and memory. 

•    Begin by bringing your hands together. 
•    Use your right hand to hold your left hand from the inside. 
•    Interlock your fingers. Inhale deeply, and as you exhale, gently pull your hands apart. 
•    Repeat this process at least six times. 

 

Fish Pose (Matsyasana)

This yoga pose helps in reducing stress and anxiety. 

•    Lie on your back on the ground and bring your legs into the Padmasana posture. 
•    Keep the knees on the floor along with the thighs. Lift the chest upward. 
•    Keep the head on the ground as shown in the picture. Repeat this 5 times while inhaling and exhaling. 

 

Vrikshasana 

Practice Vrikshasana for boosting your memory. 

•    For this pose, stand straight and lift your right leg, placing it on your left thigh. 
•    Join your hands together above your head while maintaining this position. 
•    Hold this posture for some time before repeating the exercise with the other leg.
