It's said that readers of this narrative sacrifice all of their emotions. It is said that Lord Satyanarayan is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. According to the scriptures, to worship Satyanarayan is to admire Satya Narayan in form.

Satyanarayan Puja Vidhi:
At the beginning of the puja, prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha. To do this, all chant Lord Ganesha and offer blossomed coconuts and prasad, a food offering that usually consists of modak, a sugar-coconut mixture known as Lodh.
Following the offerings, prayers are performed in devotion to the nine significant celestial bodies in the universe, known as the Navagrahas. These are the head and tail of the demon serpent, Surya, Chandra, Angaraka/Cheva or Mars, Buddha or Mercury, Guru, i.e., Brihaspati or Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu.

Satyanarayan worship begins after the Navagraha puja. Panchamritham is first used to clean the area where Lord Vishnu's statue is housed. Once Satyanarayan Swamy is installed in the proper location, devotion is offered to him.

They chant Satyanarayan's name. A variety of prasads, including mixtures of milk, honey, ghee or butter, curd, sugar, and flowers, are served during the chanting. A prepared poem known as the Satyanarayan Katha is said in front of everyone attending the puja and taking part in it. The narrative discusses the history of puja, its advantages, and the mishaps that might occur when puja is neglected.

A little fire lamp is rotated around the picture of the Lord during the Aarti, which concludes the prayer. Following the puja, everyone who attended and witnessed the ritual received prasad, during which Lord Vishnu was wished well and bid farewell.

Symbol of Satyanarayan Puja:
The practice of truth and the living out of truth in all aspects of life are integral parts of true worship of Satyanarayan. Salvation comes from living the life that God has promised to be true and faithful to. Rituals must be used to practice the truth both physically and spiritually. This represents Satyanarayan puja: being true to oneself and abiding by it.

Thus, the purpose of Satyanarayan Puja is not to fight against enemies by ceremony. Because it is purifying and brings about happiness and calm, it is important to practice the truth.
