Holi celebrations are happy times, but it's important to remember to have a responsible celebration. Sadly, sometimes the festival's excitement can endanger our animal friends and stray animals. Infections of the skin and eyes, anxiety, and illness can be brought on by harmful dyes and loud noises. It's important to be aware of distress signals in pets and stray animals, like frenzied pacing or hiding.

It might be a happy occasion to celebrate Holi with your animal friends, but you must make sure they are safe and comfortable throughout the celebrations.
These are 5 suggestions to help you and your cherished pets have a safe and colorful Holi.

1. Only use organic colors:
To make sure your furry pals aren't exposed to dangerous chemicals that could irritate their skin or eyes, choose pet-friendly, natural colors created from materials like beetroot or turmeric.

2. Control loud noises:
Many pets may find the loud noises made during the Holi celebrations upsetting. Lower the noise levels in your house to provide your animal pals with a peaceful and quiet space. Consider utilizing white noise machines or relaxing music to help drown out any loud noises from the celebrations.

3. Safety Gear:
To protect your pet's fur from dyes, dress them in lightweight clothing or bandanas. Additionally, this may stop them from licking or scraping the color off their body.

4. Nutrition and Hydration:
Make sure your pets have access to fresh water at all times to stay hydrated, particularly in case they inadvertently swallow any colored food. Adhere to their usual diet to prevent stomach problems.

5. Post-Holi cleanup:
It's essential to give your pets a complete cleaning and grooming once the celebrations are done in order to get rid of any color powder residue from their paws, skin, and fur. Use warm water and a mild pet shampoo to gently wash the colors off of them, being careful not to get paint in their eyes or ears. After that, use a fresh towel to completely dry them off, then brush their coats to make sure they're both clean and cozy.
