While expensive products in the market often fail to deliver results and may even worsen skin issues, there are simple home remedies readily available in your kitchen that can effectively reduce pigmentation. Let’s explore some easy home remedies for achieving beautiful skin. 

Potato

Potato is known to effectively reduce pigmentation and dark spots on the face. Dr. Shreya Kaushik shares that potatoes contain catecholate enzyme, which regulates melanin production in skin cells. For achieving glowing skin, peel and slice potatoes or grind them into a paste. If you’re using slices, rub them on the face for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing with water. If you have made a paste, allow it to dry on the face before washing it off with water.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is renowned for its ability to diminish pigmentation. Simply apply it to the affected area and allow it to dry completely. Once dry, rinse your face with regular water. Repeat this remedy three times a week for best results.

Almonds

Almonds can also help reduce pigmentation. Simply soak 5 to 6 almonds in water overnight. The next morning, remove the peels and grind the almonds into a paste. Mix the paste with cream or rose water, then apply it to the face. Allow the paste to dry completely before washing it off with regular water.

Cumin water

Cumin water is effective in reducing blemishes and acne marks. Start by boiling one cup of cumin in one cup of water until the water changes colour. Once cooled, use this water to rinse your face in the morning and evening. You will start seeing a difference in a couple of weeks.

Masoor dal

Masoor dal paste is effective in reducing pigmentation on the face. Soak masoor dal in water overnight. In the morning, grind the lentils to make a paste. Next, mix honey, curd, and lemon juice into the paste and apply it to the face. Once the paste dries, wash your face with water. Repeat this process twice a week for best results.
