However, amidst this, paying attention to your eye health is also crucial. Let’s learn about simple habits that can help you protect your eye vision. 

Eye massage

Regular eye massages can help improve your eyesight. Gently rub your eyelids and temples in circular motions using your fingers. Close your eyes and apply gentle pressure while rotating for a few minutes to alleviate stress. 

Palming

You can also perform palming to relax your eyes. Rub your palms together and then gently place them over closed eyes without exerting pressure. Repeat this at least 4-5 times. This practice will soothe tired eyes and remove extreme strain. 

Eye rolling

Eye rolling is another effective method to alleviate strain. Sit in a comfortable position, preferably in a chair, and look straight ahead. Slowly rotate your eyes clockwise and then anti-clockwise. This exercise will promote blood circulation while relaxing the eye muscles. 

Focusing

Here’s another great exercise for relaxing your eyes after several hours of screen time. Practice focusing by holding a pen or finger at arm’s length. Fix your gaze on a distant object without moving your head. Focus alternately on a near object and a distant object. Repeat this process of shifting focus several times. 

Blinking

This simple blinking exercise can also help in preventing dryness. Take out two minutes from your busy schedule and blink rapidly for a few seconds. Then close your eyes and allow them to rest.

If you are spending extended periods in front of screens, then follow the 20-20-20 rule; every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds to reduce eye strain. Moreover, always stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water, and use good eye drops at least two times in a day to prevent dryness. If you are heading out in the sun, wear sunglasses that block harmful UV rays. Include antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in your daily diet to support eye health.
