New Delhi: Following the success of India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan 3, the founder of Kaynes Technology India  became a billionaire. KTI played a pivotal role in supplying the essential electronic systems for both the rover and the lander of the mission. Ramesh Kunhikannan is 60 years old and has achieved a significant milestone with the success of ISRO’s mission in space science.

KTI founder Ramesh Kunhikannan experienced an unforeseen surge in his wealth. The triumph of the mission not only elevated the standing of the company, but also led to a remarkable three-fold increase in shares in Bombay Stock Exchange. The company made an additional 40 percent of profit because of its significant role in the space mission. 

Ramesh Kunhikannan’s net worth

Reportedly, Ramesh Kunhikannan has a net worth of $1.1 billion. The company generates approximately $137 million in annual revenue, and half of it comes from manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies. KTI also extends its services across various sectors including automotive, aerospace, medical and defence. 

Company’s expected revenue

Ramesh Kunhikannan’s company Kaynes Technology India was founded in the year 1988. At the time, the brand was popular as electronics contract manufacturer. The company witnessed significant growth under the leadership of Ramesh Kunhikannan’s wife Savita Ramesh, the present chairman of the company. 

In 2020, KTI’s revenue tripled to $49 million and the net profit increased to $11.4 million. In the first six months of the financial year, the company’s revenue reached $78 million. As per reports, the company’s revenue is expected to reach $208 million by March 2024.
