A 10-year-old child died during her birthday celebration in Patiala, purportedly as a result of complications from an online cake order. The event generated criticism online, raising questions about the laws governing cloud kitchens and food delivery companies.

According to reports, the family ordered the cake through Zomato on March 24, and the girl and several other family members became ill shortly after eating it. The girl later died tragically.

Following the event, Zomato expressed its sympathy and took action against the restaurant. Zomato stated, "We truly regret the recent tragedy in Patiala." They promptly delisted the business and prohibited the proprietor from functioning on the Zomato platform.

They are completely collaborating with law enforcement officials in their investigation.

The girl's grandparents revealed the order's details and pointed out the disparities. They told, the cake was ordered online around 6 p.m.," and by 11 p.m., everyone who consumed the cake had become sick.
The girl's grandfather sadly said that he had lost his granddaughter, but everyone else had recovered.

Following this family's complaint, the police filed a report of food poisoning. The bakery's recorded address does not correspond to its physical location, raising questions regarding cloud kitchen activities. Furthermore, invoice anomalies suggest that the order may have been transported from a different city.

The event triggered internet criticism for the absence of effective supervision of cloud kitchens, particularly meal delivery companies. Many users have questioned how Zomato and similar platforms assure the safety and integrity of listed sellers.
