Authorities convicted them and sentenced them to 25 years in prison for their alleged involvement in the death of a Nepali national in Dubai. Former minister and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao reignited hope by stepping in to extend his support. KT Rama Rao, the Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party and a prominent leader in Telangana, spearheaded the efforts to secure the release of these men.

Under Dubai's legal framework, a mercy petition is possible if the deceased's family agrees to forgive. According to reports, KT Rama Rao took it upon himself to reach out to the Nepali man's family. Through empathetic dialogue and a sincere gesture, KT Rama Rao offered Rs 15 lakh as a form of compensation, urging the family to consider forgiveness.

The Nepali family forgave, leading to the filing of a mercy petition. Rama Rao relentlessly advocated for the five Telangana men, urging the UAE government to reconsider their case and grant them clemency. Finally, after years of legal battles and emotional turmoil, the Dubai court accepted the mercy petition, leading to the long-awaited release of the five men.

As they touched down at Hyderabad Airport, the scene that unfolded was one of pure jubilation and relief. Family members, overcome with emotion, embraced their loved ones tightly, tears of joy streaming down their faces.
