Bengaluru: After converting primary and upper primary schools into English medium, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to help underprivileged children by starting free online coaching for TET (Teachers Eligibility Test), DLED (Diploma in Elementary Education) and B Ed candidates, on the pattern of Abhyudaya coaching, reports Swarajya. 

The website added that Pawan Sachan, director of DIET, will upload the first video related to the basic education examination on the official Youtube channel of DIET on Thursday and online classes will run on a regular basis thereafter.

He was quoted as saying, "Earlier, we decided to conduct free offline classes for TET candidates but in view of the Covid-19 infection, online classes will be run via YouTube and Google Meet."

Yogi Adityanath government converts primary schools into English medium: 

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has converted as many 15000 primary and upper primary schools into English medium schools. 

The move is an attempt to increase the competency levels of children in speaking English. 

As per a Swarajya report, nearly 1.83 crore children are studying in more than 1.5 lakh primary and upper primary schools in the state.

The website adds that in Lucknow alone, around 60 primary and upper primary schools have been converted into English medium schools.

It quoted director, basic education department, Sarvendra Vikram Singh as saying, “The hard work and dedication of teachers to equip students of these primary and upper primary schools with English speaking skills has already started paying dividends as they are competing with children of the private schools today”.

As per his observations, these schools boast of smart class, beautiful classrooms and 'most importantly, the school children now speak English.'

The Uttar Pradesh government provides free books, uniforms, bags, shoes and socks as well as sweaters in winter for students.
