Bengaluru: The Adani group has imported cryogenic tanks and medical grade oxygen cylinders from Saudi Arabia. This will go a long way in ensuring an enhancement to counter the surging spread of Covid-19.

Swarajya adds that the first shipment of four ISO cryogenic tanks filled with 80 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen are already on their way from Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Mundra in Gujarat. The group is also securing 5,000 medical-grade oxygen cylinders from Linde Saudi Arabia.

India is doing what it can do to increase the oxygen supply and improve the availability of beds.

The railways, air force and the DRDO have also pitched in to do their bit.

The Indian Railways has helped transport 150 tonnes of Oxygen to different parts of the country as the country battles the second wave of the pandemic.

Railway minister Piyush Goyals said on his twitter timeline: “Under the leadership of PM @NarendraModiji, Railways is running Oxygen Express in response to the fight against Covid-19. Oxygen Expresses have delivered nearly 150 tonnes of Oxygen in last 24 hrs, with more trains in the pipeline to serve the nation.”

Green corridors have been set up to help trains transport the oxygen. For example, one such was created between Lucknow and Varanasi.
