New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh passed away on Saturday (August 1). The 64-year-old leader was undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital for some months.

He had suffered kidney failure in 2013.

Early today, Singh had tweeted a tribute to freedom fighter and educationist Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 100th death anniversary and also wished Eid Al Adha to all his followers.

Singh resigned from all positions in SP on January 6, 2010, and was later expelled from the party.
