At a naval commanders' meeting to be conducted onboard India's aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, the Minister of Defense will address the highest ranking military officials.
On Tuesday, INS Kadamba, a naval base located near Karwar, will host the official opening of several new facilities by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

When the new infrastructure completes, it will house more than 50 vessels and submarines, making it the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.

Phase-IIA of Project Seabird has prepared the following infrastructure: two large piers, seven residential towers housing 320 residences for navy officers and defense civilian employees, and 149 rooms for single officers.

The construction of a green field dual-use naval air station featuring a 2700-meter runway and a civil enclave is intended to serve commercial aviation flights and offer air support to aircraft stationed on different Indian Navy ships.

Project Seabird's first phase, which was intended to hold ten ships, was successfully completed in 2011.

Effect on the Economy and Development of Jobs:
When the naval bases are completely operational, they should accommodate some 50,000 people, which will significantly boost the local economy. The naval dockyard's construction and the requirement for ship upkeep are anticipated to serve as engines for the region's industrial expansion.

Additionally, the naval air station has the potential to enhance air travel to the North Karnataka region and to grow the tourism sector in South Goa and North Karnataka.

Industry Cooperation:
Leading companies in the field, including AECOM India Ltd., Larsen & Toubro, ITD Cementation India Ltd., Nagarjuna Construction Company, Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd., and Shapoorji Pallonji Group, are involved in the implementation of Project Seabird. Their cooperation is further evidence of the value of public-private partnerships in improving India's defense capabilities.
