New Delhi: Moin Khan, key accused who was trying to revive Sikh terrorism, has been charge-sheeted along with two others by the National Agency of Investigation (NIA). According to the agency, Khan was arrested last year for allegedly "entering into a criminal conspiracy to commit a terrorist act for the formation of separate 'Khalistan State."

Khan who hails from Delhi was also helping other key accused Harpal Singh and Gurjeet Singh Nijjar in getting arms and ammunition and maintained good contacts with local arms dealers. NIA during the investigation also arrested Sunder Lal Parashar who had supplied a country made pistol to accused Moin Khan who further delivered/sold it to Harpal Singh which was subsequently recovered from his possession. Sunder Lal was a local arms dealer. 

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet in a case related to attempts for the revival of Sikh militancy with the ultimate objective of creating a separate 'Khalistan state.' 

According to the agency, accused Harpal Singh son of Pratap Singh Naik was arrested by ATS, Maharashtra and an illegal weapon along with five live rounds were seized from his possession. During the investigation, Mohiuddin Siddiqui son of Munna Khan alias Moin Khan was arrested in 2018.

"During investigation by NIA, it has been established that Harpal Singh alias Happy, Mohiuddin Siddiqui alias Mohin Khan and accused Gurjeet Singh and Nijjar entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist act for the formation of separate 'Khalistan State' and thereby threatened the security, integrity and sovereignty of India and have been making an attempt to revive Sikh militancy," NIA charge sheet claims.

As per the charge sheet, they used to post videos and images containing praises of militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Jagtar Singh Hawara (a convicted accused in assassination of Beant Singh, former Chief Minister of Punjab), pictures & videos of Operation Blue Star of 1984, Pro-Khalistani post related to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) with sole intention to motivate vulnerable Sikh youths and others to join the Khalistan movement in India with the ultimate objective of separate 'Khalistan State.'

"In pursuance of said conspiracy, they also arranged illegal weapons and ammunition.  During the investigation, NIA also arrested Sunder Lal Parashar who had supplied a country made pistol to accused Moin Khan who further delivered/sold it to Harpal Singh which was subsequently recovered from his possession," NIA said.

"Investigation also revealed that wanted and accused Gurjeet Singh (Nijjar), son of Gurubash Singh, a native resident of Village – Pandori Sukha Singh, Post & Tehsil – Ajnala, Dist. Amritsar Rural, Punjab and presently residing in Cyprus is the main conspirator of this case and operating with his accomplices from Cyprus through Facebook, WhatsApp & IMO," the investigators said.

The charge sheet has been filed in the Special NIA Court, Mumbai against arrested and wanted accused persons namely Harpal Singh, Mohiuddin Siddiqui, Gurjeet Singh Nijjar. Further investigation is being conducted.
