"There have been deep cultural and trade relations between China and the state of Tamil Nadu. For most part of the last 2000 years, India and China have been economic powers. The first informal summit between India and China last year in Wuhan led to fresh stability in our relations and gave a fresh momentum. Strategic communication between our two countries has also increased," stated PM Modi. 

PM Modi states that, "Chennai is historic link between India and China. The two countries are world's leading economic powers. There's increased stability between India and China relations and it will continue to soar." 

After the meeting between PM Modi and Xi Jinping concluded, delegation level talks are currently underway

The focus of the meeting will be on finding ways to improve people-to-people contact, enhancing trade and on how to maintain peace and tranquillity along the 3,500-kilometre-long India-China border.
