Maharashtra, Haryana Assembly election results. Counting to begin at 8am. Exit polls for Maharashtra's 288-seat House and Haryana's 90-member Assembly have predicted a comfortable win for the ruling BJP-led NDA.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said, "Before 2014, BJP was always a junior party of the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. For 50 years, no chief minister was able to complete the five-year term. Devendra Fadnavis got the opportunity to serve the entire five-year term. Maharashtra and especially Mumbai contribute immensely to the country’s economy. Political stability is important there."
Union home minister Amit Shah addressed the gathering at party's headquarters in Delhi. "Under Modi ji’s leadership, BJP’s expansion and India’s development is guaranteed. I would like to congratulate Modi ji for this victory. I would also like to congratulate Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar for their victory in Maharashtra and Haryana," Shah said.
Taking to Twitter PM Modi thanked the people of Haryana and said, "I thank the people of Haryana for blessing us. We will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress. I laud the efforts of hardworking BJP Haryana karyakartas, who toiled extensively and went amongst people to elaborate on our development agenda."
