New Delhi: Ashok Swain, professor of peace and conflict research at Uppsala University, Sweden mocked the late Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar shortly after he passed away on Sunday.

Swain took to Twitter to call Parrikar, who was also the defence minister of the country, a bigot. He also said, “If anybody expects me to be nice to a bigot, just forget it.”

The professor also said, “Why every dead man is a saint in India! Parrikar is the one who conspired against ‘rancid’ Advani to make Modi BJP’s PM candidate, he as the defense minister gave up his constitutional duties allowing Modi to buy Rafale for Ambani, he hung on to CM chair for months on death bed.

Swain’s remark did not down well with Twitter users.

Parrikar breathed his last on Sunday at his residence in the capital of the state.

Parrikar, who was diagnosed with a pancreatic ailment in February 2018, had been declared “extremely critical” by his office on Twitter.  “Chief Minister @manoharparrikar's health condition is extremely critical. Doctors are trying their best,” the tweet had announced.

In February, Parrikar had been admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital near Panaji. However, he was discharged on February 26.
