Alappuzha: 15-month-old Aadisha was found dead at Kollamvelli Colony in Pattanakkad, Alappuzha. Authorities suspect that the child was murdered. The post mortem stated that Aadisha died as she was deprived of oxygen.  No injuries were seen on her body except one on her left upper lip. According to reports, the child’s parents were taken into police custody for interrogation.

She was found dead Saturday afternoon. Her parents, Sharone and Aathira, who brought the child to hospital informed hospital authorities that she was left alone in a room at home after she fell asleep. However, they said that when they returned, they found Aadisha unconscious. Hospital authorities then informed the police.

The body has been kept at Government Medical College in Vandanam. The exact cause of death, however, is yet to be ascertained.

Four months ago, Aadisha’s father was taken into custody by police for allegedly attacking his mother-in-law.

Earlier on April 6, a seven -year-old boy who had been battling for his life after suffering physical assault at the hands of his stepfather died.

The incident occurred 10 days ago while the boy was trying to protect his younger brother from being beaten up by Anand, his stepfather. The seven-year-old boy's lungs were damaged, and he was put on life support at Kolenchery medical college hospital. His younger brother sustained injuries on his chin and teeth.

Kerala Police arrested Anand for allegedly assaulting two boys on March 29. According to sources, Anand has been charged with various sections of IPC, including 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
