Bengaluru: A 23-year-old youth was stabbed by his friend in Bengaluru for refusing to hug him due to bad breath. The incident occurred in Kalasipalyam, Bengaluru on Sunday.

It was at 11:45 pm when Shoaib Pasha and Nabi engaged in a verbal dispute after Pasha refused to hug him. Nabi took out a knife and stabbed Pasha in the stomach. Nabi also stabbed Shoaib 's brother Shahid Pasha who had rushed to the scene upon receiving news of a scuffle between the two.

Kalasipalyam Police reportedly said that when Nabi allegedly tried to hug Shoaib, he pushed him away citing bad breath. Within minutes an angry Nabi started to abuse Shoaib and a fight broke out. Moments later, the fight escalated to a point where Nabi stabbed Shoaib.

A case of attempt to murder was registered under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Nabi after Shoaib registered a complaint.

Kalasipalyam Police arrested Nabi alias Balli, a resident of Siddapura and an employee at an automobile accessories shop, on Tuesday and brought him before the court who remanded him to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the brothers are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Bengaluru and reports state that they are out of danger.

In a similar incident, a youth was stabbed by bike-borne miscreants for not wishing them on New Year in the wee hours on January 1, 2019. The victim, identified as Praveen, was heading home after witnessing New Year celebrations when the incident occurred.

According to the victim, he was stopped at Kamalanagar in Kurabarahalli in west Bengaluru by bike-borne men, who asked him to wish them. They wielded a knife at him. Fearing for his life, Praveen tried to escape but the duo caught and assaulted him.
