Bengaluru: Ramalinga Reddy, one of the senior most state leaders in the Karnataka Congress, is also one of the most trusted leaders in the state.

His resignation came as a bolt from the blue, as he was seen as an adhesive to keep disgruntled leaders within the fold.

But what made him resign?

Well, in a chat with state in-charge for Congress (Karnataka) KC Venugopal, the senior leader has pointed fingers at another senior leader G Parameshwara. Parameshwara is not just the deputy chief minister, but he is also the minister for Bengaluru Development.

Reddy has reportedly told Venugopal that Parameshwara has to be removed as the minister as he has not consulted MLAs from Bengaluru on issues related to the city’s development.

Another burning issue is now the issue of ward delimitation in Bengaluru.

Sources say, “When Reddy met Venugopal, he said that Parameshwara acts as if he knows everything and doesn’t need our suggestions. This is wrong as he can’t sideline us. If you want me to continue, please remove Parameshwara as the Bengaluru Development in-charge. It is extremely difficult for us to continue with him.”

Reddy who is also seen as a confidante of former chief minister Siddaramaiah was reportedly unhappy with him (Siddaramaiah) as he has not spoken to him about the fiasco in the state.

Presently, 13 MLAs have tendered their resignation. Many of them have flown to Mumbai and are camping there in a resort.

The BJP, which has been observing the ongoing keenly, has put its MLAs Arvind Limbavali and Ashwathnarayan to oversee the developments.

While the political developments in the state remain a mess, CM Kumaraswamy is rushing back to the city from the United States. But many believe that it is as good as over for him.
