Karnataka coalition crisis live updates: Speaker adjourns House to Monday, no trust vote even today

In spite of persistence by BJP, Speaker adjourned the House to Monday. CLP leader Siddaramaiah and CM HD Kumaraswamy prevailed upon him for the same. This also means that the CM has not honoured both the directions issued by Speaker. 

In an obvious bid to buy time, Congress MLAs are prevailing upon the Speaker to adjourn the House to Monday. 

Congress leaders urge Speaker to adjourn House to Monday. On the other hand, BJP urges Speaker to end the session today itself. 

As the CM HD Kumaraswamy failed to honour his deadline, governor issues a fresh deadline to the CM to prove his majority by 6 pm

JD(S) MLA Srinivas Gowda, who made startling allegations that he was offered Rs 5 crore as bribe by BJP MLAs Ashwathnarayan and SR Vishwanath faces the prospect of a privilege motion being moved against him. 

Based on the happenings in the House today, the governor has sent an interim report to the Union home ministry. 

In view of the ruckus prevailing in the House, Speaker adjourns House till 3 pm

As the deadline issued by governor nears, Karnataka House in a state of disarray as opposition members question governor's right to send intructions, directions. Ruckus ensues. 

Krishna Byre Gowda, Congress MLA says the chief minister has moved a confidence motion and the House in discussing it. During such a discussion, it will be the Spaker who will be overseeing it. Such letter may infringe upon the rights of the House. 

Speaker Ramesh Kumar read out a mail sent by Shrimant Patil, Kagwad Congress MLA saying that he has not fallen prey to the BJP.

In relation to Sriniva Gowda's statement that he was offered Rs 5 crore, BJP leaders SR Vishwanath, Ashwathnarayan to file defamation case (for Rupee 1) against Srinivas Gowda. 

As governor issued a direction to the CM HD  Kumaraswamy to prove his majority before 1: 30 pm, the CM says he leaves it to the discretion of the Speaker. 

JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh says he got an offer of Rs 28 crore from BJP through a journalist

Much to the shock of the House, CM HD Kumaraswamy revealed that he got a massive offer at at journalist's house during the tenure of Dharam Singh, the then CM of Karnataka. However, he stopped short of revealing the name. 

CM Kumaraswamy says when he was in America a few days ago, he read about the Judgement Day, in which it says  everyone has to give an account of their lives before the Almighty. 

Speaker Ramesh Kumar says those who are tryinto character-assassinate him should introspect. He says there is no need for him to be partial towards any party. 

The 3-judge bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi which heard the earlier case on resignation of rebel Karnataka MLAs likely to hear the governor-related case as well.
