Bengaluru: Mayur Shelke, who rose to the status of a hero after saving a child who would be run over by a train, is the talk of the town. 

His fame rose further as he donated half of his reward money to the mother of the child he saved. Unfortunately, she is visually impaired. 

And as continues to exhibit his selfless nature, Jawa Motorcycles has gifted him with a bran new bike. 

“We were honoured to meet Pointsman Mayur Shelke at his residence and hand over the Jawa forty two Golden Stripes Nebula Blue as appreciation for his selfless bravery as part of the Jawa Heroes initiative. More power to you Mayur and loads of respect from the Jawa family,” a tweet of Jawa Motorcycles said.

A horrifying incident was captured on a CCTV camera a few days ago. In the video, Mayur in Mumbai saved the life of a child who could have got crushed to death under an approaching train. 

The video shows a child, accompanied by a woman, was walking at platform number 2. Moments later, he lost his balance and fell on the railway tracks. He would have got crushed under an approaching train. However, in no time, Mayur came to rescue him.

Railway minister Piyush Goyal too had praised him. In his twitter handle, he had said, “Very proud of Mayur Shelke, Railwayman from the Vangani Railway Station in Mumbai who has done an exceptionally courageous act, risked his own life & saved a child's life”.
