A delegation of nine opposition parties led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir today. The team will be visiting locals and party leaders in the regions where restrictions have been imposed since the abrogation of Article 370. 

According to reports, the Congress, CPI-M, CPI, RJD, NCP, TMC and DMK is likely be part of the delegation.

Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma will visit Srinagar with Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, the state administration has told the leaders not to visit the restricted region, as it would disturb the gradual restoration of normal life. 

Reports say the leaders may visit some other parts of the state if allowed to enter. According to reports, the government has not approved any political leader to enter the state ever since the Centre withdrew special status to Jammu and Kashmir. 

Meanwhile, leaders of regional parties, including former CMs Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, are still under house arrest. Top sources have said that the opposition delegation will not be permitted to leave the airport. If they enter the region, then they will be violating the Section 144, reports say.
