Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch and lay the foundation brick for a number of major development projects during his two-day visit to Assam, which starts on Friday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the Prime Minister when he arrived at Tezpur airport. Therefore, he also wrote the welcoming post for PM Narendra Modi on X.

According to the official reports, the prime minister would inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at Rs. 18,000 crore that Assam and the central government are working on, including a Rs. 3,992 crore pipeline project from Barauni to Guwahati.

Mr. Sarma stated that the Prime Minister will unveil and lay the foundations of a number of petroleum projects, including three projects worth Rs. 1,555 crore that will increase the capacity of domestic oil refining at several Assamese facilities, will also open two railway line doubling projects worth Rs. 1,328 crore from Dhupdhara-Chhaygaon and New Bongaigaon-Sorbhog, which would greatly improve rail connectivity.

PM Modi will go on a forest safari early on Saturday morning after spending the night at the Guest House. According to officials, plans for elephant and jeep safaris have been prepared by the Park administration. PM Modi was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at the world heritage site, Kaziranga National Park, upon his arrival.

According to the plans, PM will devote the Sela tunnel in Arunachal to the people of the country. The longest twin-lane tunnel in the world, reaching above 13,000 feet, was constructed at a cost of Rs. 825 crore by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

Later in the afternoon, he will make his way back to Assam to officially open the 84-foot-tall statue of the renowned Ahom general Lachit Borphukan at Jorhat, which is supported by a 41-foot-tall pedestal. He will speak at a public gathering in Meleng Meteli, where the prime minister will launch a number of federal and state initiatives.
