The intense summer heat in Northern India has become unbearable. Amidst the heatwave, Gurugram’s policemen are using innovative cooling jackets. You must be curious about what these jackets are and how they work. Let’s learn more about them.

Special AC jackets

The traffic police in Gurugram, Haryana, have been provided with special AC jackets. According to media reports, 13 zonal officers of the traffic police stationed at intersections have been given these air-cooling jackets for initial trial purposes. Each jacket weighs approximately three kilograms.

How to they work?

These air-cooling jackets provided to the traffic police in Gurugram, Haryana, contain ice pads and are also equipped with two fans. These components of the jacket help in maintaining coolness. Each jacket is connected with a power bank that operates effectively.

The jackets are being seen as an innovative solution as they offer a temporary relief from the heat. They are effective but also come with some challenges. The cooling components make the jackets heavy. The ice pads inside melt within two and a half hours, requiring them to be refrozen to maintain cooling.
