New Delhi: A fire broke out on the sixth floor of Vikas Bhawan near ITO in central Delhi on Monday.

Delhi fire service received a call at about 12.10 pm.

“A fire broke out on the sixth floor of Vikas Bhawan near ITO in central Delhi on Monday,” Delhi fire service (DFS) said.

Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control, said chief fire officer, Atul Garg.

A technical snag in one of the air conditioners led to the fire, he said adding no injury or casualty has been reported.

Just last week, a massive fire broke out on the fifth floor of Pandit Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan of the CGO complex in New Delhi.

Earlier, a fire broke out at Hotel Arpit Palace in Karol Bagh killing 17 lives.

The owner of Hotel Arpit Palace was arrested in connection with the incident.

Due to several fire cases in the national capital, the drive against errant hotels have been intensified by the Delhi government. The fire safety certificates of 27 establishments have been cancelled due to various violations in Karol Bagh area, where 17 people were killed at a massive fire in a hotel.
