New Delhi: A group of policemen thrashed a Sikh man who attempted to murder a cop with his sword on Sunday afternoon in North West Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area. Multiple videos went viral where a tempo driver can be seen pulling out a sword and attacking a cop. The driver was also seen trying to attack other cops.

In the video, shot on a mobile phone, the cops are seen confronting the man after his vehicle allegedly ran over the foot of one of their colleagues. He then takes out a sword and runs after them.

The police claim that two of their men were injured in the attack. The Gramin Seva driver, however, alleged that he was attacked by the cops first.

The matter has taken a political turn as well where the Aam Aadmi Party and Bhartiya Janta Party are trying to gain mileage by showing sympathy to the driver.

Delhi police have suspended three cops for misbehaviour.

The policemen identified as assistant sub-inspectors Sanjay Malik and Devendra, and constable Pushpendra have been suspended.

Angry supporters also protested, and Lathi charged on the police on Sunday night after political parties asked their supporters to protest in front of Mukherjee Nagar police station.
