Bengaluru: A few days ago, former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy got married amid coronavirus lockdown.

He got married in Ramanagara, a small town, 50 kilometres from Bengaluru. The town is in green zone, which means no coronavirus cases have been reported from it.

At a time when the former CM should have behaved more responsibly, he got his son married, thereby increasing the chances of many people contracting the virus.

Now, compare and contrast this attitude of Kumaraswamy with that of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

The UP CM’s father passed away this morning owing to kidney and liver ailments. But the CM has decided not to attend his father’s funeral, as it may threaten the very purpose of a lockdown.

In a tweet, it was put out that he would not be attending it.
“Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath says he will not take part in the last rites of his father tomorrow, to ensure enforcement of lockdown and to defeat coronavirus pandemic in the state.”

Yogi has also urged his family members to not gather in large numbers which might increase the spread of the virus.

On the other hand, when Kumaraswamy got his son married, sources say that there were around 200 people who had gathered.

We reiterate that such congregations massively increase the spread of the virus.

At a time when Kumaraswamy, being a responsible politician, should have desisted from hosting the marriage, he went ahead with it.

It must also be brought to your notice that many ordinary men and women have decided to defer their weddings as they don’t want a celebration nor an invitation to spread the virus.

When a common man can think so wisely, we shudder to think how a former CM can’t think on these lines.

Maybe, Kumaraswamy can learn from Yogi Adityanath!
